Here is some cool, fun facts about pugs. Pugs are brachycephalic, which means that their heads are broad but short, which gives them the appearance of a squished face. Back in the 16th century, Prince Williams of Orange was saved by a pug! This may sound unbelievable, but he was about to get ambushed by Spanish troops, when his pug barked and alerted him of the danger. Also, pugs are always known to catch colds because of their short noses. Pugs are called a “Grumble” in a group. A pug can run up to 2-5 miles per hour. I don’t know why, but in Germany, pugs were called mops. Why did Germans call them mops? In China, pugs were bred to sit on the laps of Chinese emperors. Did you know that pugs sleep at an average of 14 hours a day? That’s insane! Pugs are thought to be around a long time ago. People say that pugs have been around since 400 BC. That’s really cool!
